The International Business (IB) program at San Diego State University integrates course work in business administration, a foreign language, and regional/cultural studies to create a truly interdisciplinary major. Our major culminates in a unique Bachelor of Arts degree offered jointly by the College of Arts and Letters and the Fowler College of Business.
IB is proud to celebrate over 30 years of academic excellence. U.S. News & World Report ranks the IB program in the top-13 overall among undergraduate programs across the nation, and in the top-10 among public universities and minority-serving institutions (MSI).
In our program, students have the opportunity to combine two emphases, one in a language and one in regional/cultural studies, in order to create a focused program of study suited to each of their individual interests and career goals.
All International Business majors engage directly in their region and language of emphasis via a semester abroad experience. Students can choose either an approved study abroad program or an international internship.
Internships are career-related learning opportunities that offer students the chance to develop hands-on experience. As a requirement for the IB major, internships are customized to fit the interests of each individual student.
